I decided it the best thing I've written that I am ever going to sell!
Earlier this year I was convinced to get a poem I wrote years ago published. Mum has been trying to convince me for AGES and I never had. I wrote the poem when I was nine and won a poetry competition with it. Since then, it has had a few minor makeovers and a name change to "Just Me". It is a little poem about self acceptance and being happy with who you are. I hired a self-publishing company and set to work!
My sister is an amazing artist, so of course she was the clear choice for illustrating the picture book. We sent everything off, gave the tick of approval and while I was away in Ukraine, the first print arrived! It is now for sale online! Bec and I have even made royalties, not many but still! I didn't do it to earn money, I did it to share my story. So far 2 books have been bought online and we have sold cheaper copies with a special author discount for Christmas (such marketing specialists!)
